Every backup system has either a serial or USB port or both for monitoring and alerts. Connecting a Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 computer to the backup system via the serial or USB cable will allow you to monitor battery status, load, and a variety of other factors. Email and/or phone call notifications (PCI or PCIe modem required) can also be setup to alert you when the power goes out.
