Collection: ESS (Energy Storage Systems)

ESS (energy storage systems) are able to store much more power than UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for less overall cost. They are also used for a wider range of applications such as load shedding, solar power storage, generated power storage, renewable power storage, wind power storage, time delayed backup power (not seamless like UPS), peak utility rate reduction, and facility power capacity supplementation. 

The initial setup on ESS (energy storage systems) is a slightly more complex than with UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems and they do not have a seamless transfer to backup (when used as a backup power source). When used as a backup power source, ESS (energy storage systems) have a delay like a generator, so there is a brief, but noticeable disruption of power. This can be mitigated by combining a UPS with the ESS to provide bridge power while the ESS system turns on.
